Abstract
|
The Observatories of the Seas Ontology (OSO) provides a semantic framework for describing marine research infrastructures and observatories. It models the relationships between Regional Facilities, Sites, Platforms, Organisations, Projects, and related entities, with a particular focus on EMSO ERIC. OSO enables interoperability across heterogeneous data sources by aligning with international standards and vocabularies (e.g., SKOS, FOAF, DCAT) and supports FAIR data principles for marine science.
